Hey Escape Industry Newsletter readers! 👋 We're just a few weeks out for World Escpe Room Day on October 1st which is mostly a fun marketing gimmick but hey, we don't need any excuse to play an extra room or two (or three). And that's not the only thing to look forward to with TERPECA season's arrival, RECON's wrapup, and a few other conferences popping up in the US, UK, France, and Bulgaria later in the year. On an admin note, for some reason this was also a month in which I had not a single alert for escape rooms opening in the USA and Canada. I went digging in all the usual places and I refuse to believe there have only been 7 new openings in North America this past month - so if you live locally to a new escape room that opened up, please let us know by replying to this email. TERPECA Season is here! And just like that, suddenly it's September again and TERPECA is once again upon us. First off, dates - mark your calendars! Nominations open in early October and end October 31, as always. Voting opens in early November and end November 30, as always. The awards show will be Saturday, December 20 at 1pm Pacific.
The process will be almost exactly the same this year as it was last year, with only a few very minor changes, including no longer counting online rooms in your official room count, requiring that all nominators also participate in voting, and allowing the nomination and ranking of individual component games from any combined games that you have played. Again, if you've played over 100 rooms absolutely sign up to be a part of TERPECA, as it's super important to contribute to this wonderful industry we have. Â |

How much TERPECA can you get for 2000€? And speaking of TERPECA, not exactly news but I found this report by Heiner of Escape Roomers De really interesting! If you've ever wondered how much TERPECA rooms you get for approximately 2000 EUR per country, this Facebook post breaks down exactly how many rooms you can play, how far your money will stretch, and what that price per minute is (since some countries tend to run 90, or 120 minute long rooms as standard). |

The Escape Room Conference by ER Champ has announced new speakers Planned to coincide with the World Escape Room Championship finale, the ER Champ has been announcing new speakers including Zoltan Papp, Verone, Jan Gheyle, and Vasilis Dalitsikas on topics around the escpe room world. In addition to the conference portion, the event also includes a vendor area, the official afterparty, and a dedicated space for watching the championship finale life. |

USA Today's 10 Best Escape Rooms Voting Open In previous years the USA Today 10 Best escape sooms has been an unpopular choice, but this year they seem to have taken the advice of an expert panel well, and the lineup is very strong. Voting remains open until Monday September 22nd at noon ET, and the announcement will be on October 1st. |
